Staff Accountant

Responsible for maintaining, processing and analyzing accounting functions including reporting of company’s financial operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares accurate monthly financial statements
  • Analyzes, reviews and adjusts income and expense information as to adequacy, form and source
  • Maintains general ledger
  • Maintains cash schedules, inspects account status, transfers cash as necessary to cover disbursements
  • Manages financial aspects of contracts and ensures financial requirements
  • Conducts reconciliations of balance sheets asset and liability accounts to ensure correctness; identifies and resolves discrepancies
  • Maintains amortization schedules
  • Creates and evaluates revenue and expenditure reports
  • Provides information and assistance to external auditors as needed; prepares required audit reports
  • Process accounts payable
  • Prepares client invoices and follows up on outstanding accounts receivable
  • Other duties may be assigned

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or minimum 5 years equivalent experience.

Communication Skills
Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.

Must be computer literate and possess knowledge of accounting practices to understand and interpret various accounting functions. Must possess knowledge of budgeting and cost accounting principles.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Must have the dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, calculator and basic office equipment.
